North Texas is nearing a major environmental achievement as the DFW Discovery Trail approaches completion, creating a direct connection between Fort Worth and Dallas for cyclists and pedestrians.

This 63-mile network will offer sustainable transportation and fresh recreational opportunities, drawing urban and natural areas closer together.

With just under 10 miles left, substantial completion is expected by 2026, thanks to coordinated efforts from the North Central Texas Council of Governments and cities including Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Irving.

Critical segments like the Trinity Lakes Trail and CentrePort Station Trail are underway, while new extensions in Grand Prairie and Dallas will boost connectivity.
